System Icons Definitions

Every IDS system icon has a specific and unique purpose. When selecting an icon, we encourage you to refer to these definitions to help improve usability, streamline navigation, and drive consistency across the CloudSuites.

Navigation

Navigating an application or page, including menu, search, and moving between pages.

Icon	Name	Use for
	grid	Switching applications exclusive to Infor OS Portal. (Also known as bento.)
	menu	Opening navigation to different pages or modules so the user can access their workflows. (Also known as hamburger menu.)
	vertical-ellipsis	Revealing additional or overflow actions that apply to the entire page, card, widget, or view. (Also known as kebab menu.)
	more	Revealing additional or overflow actions or options within specific individual items in a list or table. (Also known as meatball menu.)
	search	Finding and filtering content in lists, tables, or databases.
	drag	Moving or reordering items by dragging them to new positions.

Operations

Common actions like add, edit, delete, refresh, and search. They support user interaction and ensure consistency across the interface.

Icon	Name	Use for
	add	Creating new items or adding content to lists and forms. Commonly used to let the user initiate actions like “Add record”, “Create new”, or “Insert item”.
	minus	Removing items, reducing quantities, or collapsing sections of content.
	edit	Modifying existing content in forms, tables, or detail views.
	delete	Removing items with confirmation to prevent mistakes.
	copy	Duplicating text, links, or data to the clipboard.
	paste	Inserting previously copied content from the clipboard. Streamlines data entry.
	download	Saving files or data from the system to the user’s device, commonly used in tables, toolbars, and export actions.
	upload	Adding files or data from the user’s device to the system.
	refresh	Reloading or updating data to show the latest information.
	cog	Accessing configuration options and user preferences.
	print	Creating hard copies of reports, records, or documents.
	save	Storing user changes after editing or completing forms.
	launch	Opening external links or applications in new windows.
	link	Creating connections between content or sharing URLs.
	unlink	Removing connections or breaking links between content.
	locked	Securing content or indicating that something is private or restricted.
	unlocked	Indicating that content is unrestricted.
	map-pin	Showing locations or marking places on maps.
	archives	Storing old files or moving items out of active use.
	star	Marking favorites or highlighting important items.
	url	Web-related features or international or global content.

Communications

Messaging, conversations, or communication features. They’re commonly used for support or collaboration functions.

	inbox	Viewing received messages or notifications.

Status

Indicate the condition or state of an element, such as success, warning, error, or information. They provide quick visual feedback to help the user understand what needs attention or confirmation.

	rejected-outline	Rejecting actions or showing unsuccessful states.
	alert	Showing caution warnings where the user can proceed but should be aware of potential issues.
	help	Accessing support, documentation, or assistance features.
	info	Displaying additional details or flagging informational items in data grids.
	error	Showing critical alerts, problems, and warnings that need immediate action or for flagging issues in data grids.
	notification	Alerting the user to new messages or system updates.
	snooze	Temporarily dismissing alerts or delaying notifications.

File

Indicate different kinds of files, file formats, or file structures within an application. They help the user recognize and navigate content more efficiently.

People

Represent roles, groups, and user-related interactions. They support interfaces involving profiles, teams, accounts, and access.

	user-profile	Viewing or editing personal account information and settings.

Time

Represent concepts related to time, such as clocks, calendars, schedules, timestamps, and durations.  They’re used to support features like datepickers, event logs, reminders, and time-based filters.

	calendar	Selecting dates, scheduling events, setting reminders, or viewing timelines.
	clock	Showing time, setting time-based reminders or deadlines, or indicating timestamps (such as “last updated” or “scheduled time”).

Formatting

Editing and formatting content, including text styling (such as bold, italic, or lists) and editor actions (such as insert image, link, or undo). They support content creation tools across the interface.

	back-color	Changing the background color.
	bold	Making text bold.
	italic	Italicizing text.
	strike-through	Strikethrough text.
	underline	Underlining text.
	number-list	Creating numbered lists with sequential ordering.

	clear-formatting	Removing all formatting and returning text to default style.
	h3	Applying heading level 3 formatting to text.
	h4	Applying heading level 4 formatting to text.
	html	Switching to either view or edit the HTML code.
	visual	Switching back to visual text editor mode after HTML mode.

Used exclusively within the Infor OS Portal Masthead and Smart Panel components. They’re dedicated for this context. Don’t use them in other areas of the interface.
